Through the Community Development Project, funded by the Big Lottery, we hope to improve community relationships between older people and local communities as well as increase personal independence and reduce social isolation. We have started 5 action groups of older people and these are based in Brislington, Bedminster Down, Headley Park, Knowle and Whitchurch. These action groups have called themselves the Go Getters and welcome new members.

The Go Getters are groups of mature people who have strong roots in our communities. "We should be at a time in our lives when we are able to reap the fruits of our labour having experienced the changes of time. The Go Getters feel that life in our community is being eroded and we have very little say in the decision making that affects our future. This is your chance to branch out, voice your opinion and take an active role in community issues".

If you are over 60 and live in Brislington, Bedminster Down, Headley Park, Knowle, Stockwood or Whitchurch we would like to invite you to join us and have your say.
